Blade–Made is a design solution to the growing global wind industry waste problem.
Every modern wind blade is hand crafted from highly durable, weather resistant, polyester-glass fibre composite. These pieces of aerodynamic engineering feats range in length from 6m to over 80m with circular hollow bases with diameters of 40cm to over 5m. The ever growing global wind industry is estimated to produce 225,000 tonnes of waste wind blades annually by 2034. , Instead of “difficult waste”, wind blades at the end of their energy producing lives in the air, could be seen as ideal long lasting, pre-fabricated building blocks for urban design elements on the ground.
Plant Pot & Sound Barrier
These plant pots can be multi-functional. Also available in larger dimensions to work as sound barriers as well as plant pots. They can also be ordered in smaller sizes to solely function as plant pot.
- Use of virgin materials is reduced.
- Blades are being saved from downcycling (shredding, incineration).
- Plants filter fine dust particles and transform CO2 into oxygen.
- Noise reduction is equal or slightly outperforms that of standard sound barriers.
- Use of blades stimulates imagination, giving people the opportunity to fantasize.
- Two-sided use: bigger blades can be used on the inside and on the outside.
- We advocate Whole Blade Use, finding the most suitable solutions for everything the blade has to offer.
- The smallest elements of Blade Barrier are available as a separate product, Blade Planter, a robust plant pot for outdoor spaces.
Measurements can change in reality, depending on the availability of blades.
